MSA M1 launch

The brief

In summer 2017, MSA launched its new M1 breathing apparatus and required a high-impact launch video to support the release. The film needed to live on the company website and premiere at a major firefighting conference in France, introducing the product to an international audience of industry professionals.

My roles:
Motion graphics designer / Editor / SFX

The challenge

With photography and video assets captured by Karl Taylor, the challenge was to craft a compelling edit that reflected MSA’s brand strength while clearly communicating the innovation behind the M1. The video needed to elevate its advanced safety features, particularly its role in improving respiratory protection and reducing long-term health risks for firefighters.

Working closely with the creative director and MSA’s European marketing manager, I ensured the final edit balanced emotional impact with technical clarity while satisfying key stakeholders and supporting a critical product launch moment.

The results

The launch video was very well received both internally and at the firefighting conference in France where it premiered. It successfully introduced the MSA M1 breathing apparatus as a next-generation, modular system designed to improve safety, hygiene, and long-term respiratory protection for firefighters, while reinforcing MSA’s position as a leader in life-critical equipment.

The video clearly communicated the product’s advanced features and supported the wider launch strategy by building credibility and engagement around the new system. Delivered with full stakeholder alignment, the project met both creative and commercial objectives and contributed to a strong international product debut.
